Three 19th-century 835 silver snuff boxes and a mint box

Description

Lot of three 19th-century 835/1000 silver boxes: two snuff boxes and a mint box. The octagonal snuff box bears a shield on the front with year letter N (1872); maker's mark is unclear, possibly Schijfsma. The contoured snuff box carries maker's mark V146 = Johannes Veenstra, active in Leeuwarden from 1841 to 1871. The mint box is square with rounded corners, its top engraved with floral motifs and year letter H (1867).
